The Barn Project - Page 3 End March Its amazing what you find when digging out the inside of a barn. This common grass snake was found hibernating at the far end of the barn between some broken bricks. At the time, we were unsure as to the breed of the snake but a local pet shop that specialised in reptiles explained the snake would be kept warm, fed and released back into the wild when the weather was warmer. Throughout the barn, we also discovered the majority of the brick floor intact. As they were laid on sand, no mortar needs removing and so they can be reused in the utility and rear lobby areas as the original brick floor. To accompany these, we unearthed over a hundred bullnose bricks, ie bricks with a curved ends. Again, these will be used as steps into the back door and utility areas. Should you wish to view the ground and first floor plans, they are available for downloading below Should you wish regular updates on this project and other products please enter your name and email on our subscribe page. |
