The Barn Project - Page 6

Our apologises in not updating this page sooner.

Its the 10th June and its got to the 'are we getting anywhere' stage. Its true to say that all the hardwork in preparing the groundworks, footings and drains is not appreciated as most of this is covered up with hardcore or concrete.

The first picture shows the rebuilt wall on the right hand side of the barn and the curved arched bricks used in the window openings

The next picture shows the newly dug footings for the office, this is on the far left hand side of the barn. Note the level pegs. These are palced to ensure the footings are level after the concrete is poured.

The bottom two pictures show some completed brickwork. The left hand side picture shows what will be the exposed rear wall of the conservatory. Throughout the barn we have tried to carefully expose brickwork in the internal colunms, fireplace and small areas of interest.

The right hand picture show how we have blended the new 2 inch bricks into the existing 2 inch brickwork. If you look carefully, you can see a diagonal line in the brickwork. This small difference in colour will weather naturally and the lime based mortar adds to the authenticity creating a realistic bond between the two/
