When locating suppliers, we concentrate more on the underneath of the board than on the top. It is here where the board has its structure and stability. Within the current market, the tthickness of the top section of an Engineered Board is usually between 4-8mm. Our selction is currently 6mm. The most popular species of timer is Oak., however we can obtain more exotic species such as Walnut, Cherry, Wenge and Jatoba. The three small close up pictures below show the difference between some boards on the market today. A. 4mm of American White Oak with a poor quality base layer B. 6mm of European Oak with a better 4ply base layer C. 6mm of European Oak with a much better 11ply base layer.ALL our boards have this degree of quality!
