Engineered Oak Flooring - Widths Available

As you can see from below, the six widths we have available range from 180mm (7 1/8") to 280mm (11"). All boards are manufactured the same and so if mixed widths are needed its not a problem.

Aestically, the wider of these boards would accomadate wider rooms and the opposite also works well.
What is a wide room? Well this depends on a number of factors including the amount of natural light the room will have. Dark rooms, although they may be wide, may not 'seem' as wide as a slightly narrower room with loads of sulight.
The shape of the room and also determine the width to be used. For example, a room measuring 6m by 6m (36 sq M) would suit a wider board but a larger room, in area, for exmaple, 12m x 4m ( 48 sq M) may need a slightly narrower board due to width of the room. ie 6m against 4m.

There are two ways to acheive mixed widths.

ONE. Divide the total area amongst the widths needed. eg. A 30 sq metre room requirng 3 widths would use 10 sq metres of each width.

TWO. Slightly more complex. Using the same scenario as above, you would get more narrow boards than wide because a narrow board covers less area than a wide one. We can use a formaula to ensure you get an equal amount of boards of each width as apposed to an equal number of sq metres
